Rivian builds two vehicles on its R1 platform: the R1T, a four-door electric pickup that entered production in 2021, and the R1S, a three-row SUV on the same skateboard architecture. They share drivetrain and much of their electronics, which is why accessories often list for both.
Pedal Commander throttle response controllers are offered for each. On an electric vehicle the accelerator pedal is purely an input signal to the motor controllers, so remapping its response curve changes how aggressively the vehicle delivers torque off the pedal without altering total output.
