About these parts
The C5 ran 1997 through 2004, powered by the LS1 with the LS6 arriving in the 2001–2004 Z06. It introduced the rear-mounted transaxle layout that carried through the C6 and C7, which is why several driveline parts here are shared across C5 and C6.
Alcon Pro-System rear race brake kits fit both C5 and C6 — confirm wheel clearance before ordering, since big brake kits typically require a minimum wheel diameter and specific offset.
Hinson Motorsports supplies a short throw shifter for 1997–2004 cars (sold without the shift ball) and a 3.5-inch aluminum driveshaft covering 2001–2013 C5 and C6 cars. Both generations use a rear transaxle, which puts a long driveshaft between engine and transmission — an aluminum one-piece replacement reduces rotating mass in that section.
