Factory steering components on the Lexus GX470 become a weak point once the truck is running heavier tires or seeing regular trail use — the same complaint owners of the platform-mate 4th Gen 4Runner and the 2005–2015 Tacoma report.
The Toyo-Steering billet Tundra conversion rack kit addresses it by swapping in heavier Tundra-spec steering components with precision-machined hardware. The result is tighter steering response and a component that holds up to off-road loads better than the factory parts it replaces.
This kit is cut for the 2003–2009 GX470 (J120). The 2010 and newer GX460 is a different platform and uses different steering hardware.
