GT Backwoods Disc Brake Adapter: Modern Braking for Your Classic Ride

Upgrade your early 90's GT Backwoods with modern stopping power. The Campsite Carbon Disc Brake Adapter is specifically designed to convert your vintage frame from rim brakes to disc brakes.

Kit Includes:

• CNC machined and anodized black for a precise fit and clean look
• Includes stainless steel mounting hardware and brake post cable guide
• Compatible with IS mount disc brakes; Post mount or Flat mount brakes can be used with separate adapters
• Optional IS to Flat Mount adapter available as a package
• Note: Requires drilling and tapping two holes in the frame for installation

With this adapter, you can bolt on a wide range of modern brakes and keep your classic ride on the trail.

Installation Guide:

1. Remove rear wheel and all rear brake components
2. Install the Disc Brake Adapter using the hanger threaded rack hole
3. Install wheel with disc brake rotor into dropout
4. Ensure caliper orientation is over the rotor and not dragging
5. Mark the two hole locations, the lower two holes on the adapter
6. Remove adapter and wheel
7. Drill and tap two hole locations with an M5x0.8 tap ensuring holes are perpendicular to the dropout
8. Clean the dropout and install the Disc Brake Adapter with supplied hardware, torque adapter bolts to 5nm
9. Install wheel, center brake caliper over rotor; install rotor shims if necessary
10. Test braking function, and check bolt torque after the first 10 miles
