The Hinson Motorsports 3.5-inch aluminum driveshaft covers 2001–2013 C5 and C6 Corvettes. Both generations use a rear transaxle, which puts a long driveshaft between engine and transmission — an aluminum one-piece replacement reduces rotating mass in that section.
Note the year range: it starts at 2001, so early 1997–2000 C5s are not covered.
